(biography)

Doces the Bunny Nathan Hanley Michael Paine Tyler Hanley

Doces the Bunny was formed in 1990 when singer/songwriter Nathan Hanley met guitarist Michael Paine while working at a deli in Redwood City, California. They soon enlisted Tyler Hanley, Nathan's brother, a drummer with a working drum set and an ear for rhythm.

The trio practiced regularly in the Hanley's family garage in Menlo Park, playing through single guitar amps and recording their songs on cassette through a stereo's lone microphone. The guitars and drum set were tattered and taped together, and the vibe was experimental and raw. The band was heavily influenced by the music scene exploding from Seattle, and their sound echoed it.

After a few years safely hidden in the garage, the band soon began playing live shows, mainly around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Finally, in 1997, they went into the studio to record a five-song EP titled "Happy Wednesday".

Not long after the recording, things changed for the band. Misadventures were had, people moved and moved again. Life events and distance kept the band from hitting a regular stride.

Some intimate shows were played here and there - but until now, Happy Wednesday had remained the band's only studio recording.

However, even as time has passed, the three members have never let dTb fade. They've remained extremely close friends. They've kept their creative juices flowing.

And now, more than thirty years after their inception, Doces the Bunny is full steam ahead with a new album. This time a full length LP: IDYLWYLD
